From the historic Loreto Abbey Chapel. With the kind cooperation of the Toronto Catholic District School Board, the National Catholic Broadcasting Council presents the Daily TV Mass.

SPEAKER_07

Welcome to the celebration of the Daily TV Mass. I am Father Roshan Lloyd DeSouza. The televising of this Mass is made possible by the contribution from our family who are parishioners of St. Clement Parish in Idobico, Ontario. This Mass is offered for the repose of the souls of Delphin de Souza and for other deceased family members and for world peace. We know that this television mass brings meaning to the lives of tens of thousands of the faithful across Canada, USA, and around the world, and they join with me in thanking our donor family for the gift of this Mass. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_05

Amen.

SPEAKER_07

The grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

SPEAKER_05

And with your Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_07

As we continue our journey in this Easter season, we thank the Lord for the gift of life, gift of resurrection, and for bringing us salvation. Let us continue to be children of light and bring meaning to the people we meet and encounter in our daily lives. To enter into this celebration, let us call to mind our sins and seek God's mercy. You were sent to heal the contrite of heart. Lord, have mercy.

SPEAKER_05

Lord, have mercy.

SPEAKER_07

You came to call sinners, Christ have mercy. You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for all of us. Lord, have mercy.

SPEAKER_04

Lord have mercy.

SPEAKER_07

Almighty God, have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.

unknown

Amen.

SPEAKER_07

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory. Lord God, Heavenly King, O God Almighty Father, Lord Jesus Christ, only begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. You take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer. You are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. Let us pray. O God, who have bestowed on us paschal remedies, endow your people with heavenly gifts, so that, possessed of perfect freedom, they may rejoice in heaven over what gladdens them now on earth. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles. When the day of Pentecost had come, Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd. Let the entire house of Israel know with certainty that God has made him both Lord and Messiah, this Jesus whom you crucified. Now when the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and to the other apostles, brothers, what should we do? Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins may be forgiven, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away. Everyone whom the Lord our God calls to him. And Peter testified with many other arguments and exhorted them, saying, Save yourselves from this corrupt generation. So those who welcomed his message were baptized. And that day about three thousand persons were added to their number. The word of the Lord.

SPEAKER_03

The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. Truly the eye of the Lord is on those to fear, on those to hope in his steadfast love, to deliver their souls from death, and to keep them alive in fam. Our soul waits for the Lord. He is our help and cheeld. Let your status love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.

Mary Magdalene stood weeping outside the tomb. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb, and she saw two angels in white sitting where the body of Jesus had been lying, one at the head and the other at the feet. They said to her, Woman, why are you weeping? She said to them, They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him. When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for? Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me why you have laid him, and I will take him away. Jesus said to her, Mary. She turned and said to him in Hebrew, Raboni, which means teacher. Jesus said to her, Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father, but go to my brothers and say to them, I am ascending to my father and your father, to my God and your God. Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, I have seen the Lord. And she told them that she had said these things to her. The gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. A woman once shared how, after losing her job unexpectedly, she felt completely shaken. Each morning she woke up with anxiety, wondering what would happen next. One day, while sitting alone in a chapel, she poured out her fears and anxiety and sadness to God. Nothing dramatic happened. No thunder, no sudden solution. But in the quiet of her heart, she sensed a deep reassurance. I am with you. That simple awareness did not immediately change her circumstances, but it changed her spirit. Fear slowly gave way to trust. She later said, the problem was still there, but I knew I was not alone. That is the moment we see in today's Gospel from the Gospel of John that Mary Magdalene stands outside the tomb weeping. Her world has collapsed. The one who brought meaning and healing into her life has been crucified. Even when Jesus stands before her, she does not recognize him. Grief blinds her. It is only when he speaks her name, Mary, that her eyes are opened. In that moment, sorrow turns into joy, confusion into clarity, despair into mission. In the first reading from the Acts of the Apostles, Peter boldly proclaims that the crucified Jesus has been made Lord and Messiah. The people listening are cut to the heart. They suddenly realize their sin and their need for mercy. They ask the most important question What are we to do? Peter responds, Repent and be baptized. About 3,000 people accept his message that day, and their hearts are changed, and their lives take a new direction. These readings offer us three powerful life messages. First, the risen Lord is closer than we think. Mary believed she was alone in her grief, yet Jesus was standing right beside her. How often do we feel abandoned in illness, disappointment, financial struggle, or family tension? We assume God is distant because we cannot see him acting in obvious ways. But the resurrection reminds us that Christ is alive and present. He walks with us even when we fail to recognize him. Faith grows when we trust his presence beyond our feelings. Second, we must allow our hearts to be pierced. The crowd listening to Peter did not argue or make excuses. They were open enough to let the truth touch them. Sometimes we resist conviction. We justify our behavior, blame others, or ignore our conscience. Yet, spiritual growth begins when we humbly admit our need for change. Repentance is not about guilt, it is about freedom. When we confess our sins and turn back to God, we experience renewal. A heart that refuses correction remains restless, but a heart open to conversion finds peace. Third, an encounter with Christ leads to witness. When Mary Magdalene recognizes Jesus, she does not cling to him. She is sent to announce the good news. I have seen the Lord. The people baptized in Acts do not keep their faith private. They become part of a living community. Authentic faith always moves outward. If we have truly experienced Christ's love, it will show in our patience, forgiveness, kindness, and courage. The world does not need more arguments about religion, it needs living testimonies of hope. Today's Psalm proclaims the earth is full of goodness of the Lord. This is not naive optimism, it is resurrection faith. God's goodness is present even in suffering. The empty tomb proves that darkness never has the final word. Sin does not win, death does not win, Christ wins. So when life feels uncertain, listen for him calling your name. When your conscience is stirred, respond with repentance. And when you encounter his mercy, share it boldly. May we move from tears to trust, from pierced hearts to renewed lives, and from silent belief to joyful proclamation. And through us, may the world come to see that the earth is truly full of the goodness of the Lord. Amen. Let us bring our prayers to our loving God. Let us pray for the church that we may spread the message of the resurrection in our lives. We pray to the Lord.

SPEAKER_04

Lord, hear our prayer.

SPEAKER_07

Let us pray for the world, especially for peace and unity. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. For all those in our daily TV Mass Prayer Intentions book, we pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. For the month of April, our community prays that all who are burdened by grief or discouragement may be uplifted by the light of the risen Christ and renewed in hope. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. We make these prayers through Christ our Lord. Amen. Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation. For through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you, fruit of the earth and work of human hands. It will become for us the bread of life. Blessed be God forever. The wine and the walk of human hands. May the Lord accept the sacrifice which I have the praise and glory of his name, our God and for this holy church. Accept in compassion, Lord, we pray, the offerings of your family, that under your protective care, they may never lose what they have received, but attain the gifts that are eternal through Christ our Lord.

SPEAKER_04

Amen.

SPEAKER_07

The Lord be with you.

SPEAKER_04

And with your spirit.

SPEAKER_07

Lift up your hearts. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just truly right and just our duty and our salvation. At all times to acclaim you, O Lord, but above all to love you at more gloriously, when Christ our Passover has been sacrificed. For He is the true Lamb who has taken away the sins of the world. By dying he has destroyed our death, and by rising restored our life. Therefore, overcome paschal joy, every land, every people exalts in your praise, and even the heavenly powers with angelic hosts sing together the unending hymn of your glory as they acclaim.

SPEAKER_03

Holy holy Lord God of host heaven and earth are full of your glory.

SPEAKER_07

You are indeed holy, O Lord, the font of all holiness. Make holy therefore these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dew fall, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion. He took bread and giving you thanks broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you. In a similar way, when the supper was ended, he took the chalice and once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.

SPEAKER_03

The mystery of faith, we proclaim your death, O Lord, and profess your resurrection until you come again.

SPEAKER_07

Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. Humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Leo, our Pope, and Francis, our bishop, and all the clergy. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy, welcome them into the light of your face. Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with Blessed Joseph, her spouse, with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be called as to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you with your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_06

Through him and with him and in him. Oh God Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours forever and ever.

SPEAKER_07

At the saviour's command informed by the divine teaching, we dared to say, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily prayer, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power, the glory are yours now and forever. Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. The peace of the Lord be with you always. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that you shall enter into my room. But only say the word, and my soul shall be healed.

SPEAKER_02

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in this holy sacrament of the altar. I love you above all things, and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come spiritually into my soul, so that I may unite myself wholly to you now and forever. Amen.

SPEAKER_07

Let us pray. Hear us, Almighty God, and as you have bestowed on your family the perfect grace of baptism, so prepare their hearts for the reward of eternal happiness through Christ our Lord. The Lord be with you. May Almighty God bless you, the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit. The mass is ended. Let us go in the love of Christ. Hallelujah, hallelujah. Thanks be to God.

SPEAKER_01

Our thanks to our donors for the gift of this Mass.
