Welcome to the celebration of the Daily TV Mass. I'm Father Roshan Lloyd Souza. The televising of this Mass is made possible by the contributions from three donors. The first is a family of Ernie Hagar for the repose of the soul of Ernie Hagar. The second are anonymous donors from Ottawa, Ontario, in Thanksgiving for the Daily TV Mass and for blessings received for living and deceased family and friends and for world peace. The third is Christopher Brown, son of the late Mary G. Brown of Trano, Ontario. This Mass is offered in sacred remembrance of Mary. Her thanks to our donors for the gift of this Mass. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

SPEAKER_07

And with your spirit.

SPEAKER_03

As we come together to celebrate this Eucharist, let us thank and praise God for his bountiful blessings. Let us thank the Lord for the gift of faith and family. To enter into this celebration, let us call to mind our sins and seek God's mercy. You were sent to heal the contrite of heart. Lord have mercy. You came to call sinners, Christ have mercy. You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for all of us. Lord have mercy. Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen. Let us pray. Enable us, we pray, Almighty God, to proclaim the power of the risen Lord, that we who have received the pledge of His gift may come to possess all He gives when it is fully revealed. Through Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles. The whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common. With great power, the apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. There was not a needy person among them, for as many as owned lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of what was sold. They laid it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need. There was a Levite, a native of Cyprus, Joseph, to whom the apostles gave the name Barnabas, which means son of encouragement. He sold a field that belonged to him, then brought the money and laid it at the apostles' feet. The word of the Lord.

SPEAKER_05

You are from everlasting. The Lord is king, he is robbed in majesty Aleluya Alluya Hallelujah The Son of Man must be lifted up so that all who believe in him may have eternal life Alleluia.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John. Jesus said to Nicodemus, Do not be astonished that I said to you, You must be born from above. The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus said to him, How can these things be? Jesus answered him, Are you a teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things? Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know and testify to what we have seen, yet you do not receive our testimony. If I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you about heavenly things? No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. The Gospel of the Lord. Praise you, Lord Jesus Christ. A young boy once received a beautiful kite as a gift. One windy afternoon he went to a large open field to fly it. As the wind lifted the kite higher and higher into the sky, the boy watched with excitement. Soon the kite was soaring high above him, dancing gracefully in the wind. After a while, the boy began to think. He wondered if the string tied to the kite was actually holding it back. If the string were not there, he thought the kite would fly even higher and be completely free. So he made a decision. He cut the string. For a few seconds, the kite shot even higher into the sky. The boy felt proud of his idea, but within a moment, the kite began to shake and wobble. Without the string guiding it, the wind pushed it in every direction. Soon it lost its balance and finally crashed into a tree. That day, the boy learned an important lesson. The string was not limiting the kite, it was actually helping it rise and stay steady. In our gospel today, Jesus speaks to Nicodemus about a new kind of life. He says, You must be born from above. Nicodemus is confused because he thinks Jesus is speaking about being physically born again. But Jesus is talking about a spiritual rebirth, being born of the Spirit. Just as the kite needed the string to guide it, our lives need the guidance of God's Spirit. Sometimes people think that faith, God's commandments, or the teachings of the church restrict their freedom. But in reality, they give our lives direction and purpose. Without God's guidance, we can easily drift aimlessly like that kite without its string. Jesus explains that the spirit is like the wind. We cannot see it directly, but we can see its effects. When the spirit moves in someone's life, that person begins to change. They become more loving, more patient, more forgiving, and more generous. The first reading from the Acts of the Apostles gives us a beautiful example of people living this new life in the Spirit. The early Christian community was united in heart and mind. They shared everything they had, and no one among them was in need. Those who owned land or property sold it and brought the money to the apostles so it could help others. One man mentioned in the reading is Barnabas. He sold a field and gave the money to the community. This act of generosity shows how deeply the Holy Spirit had transformed their hearts. They were no longer thinking only about themselves, but about the needs of others. The Psalm today reminds us of the foundation of this way of life. When we truly accept God as the King of our lives, we trust His guidance. Just as the string helped the kite stay in the air, God's presence helps our lives rise higher and remain steady even in strong winds. Jesus also speaks about Moses lifting up the serpent in the desert or wilderness so that those who looked at it could be healed. In the same way, Jesus says the Son of Man will be lifted up. He is referring to his crucifixion. When we look to Christ on the cross with faith, we receive healing, forgiveness, and new life. So what lessons can we take from today's liturgy and readings? First of all, true freedom comes not from cutting ourselves off from God, but from allowing the Holy Spirit to guide our lives. Secondly, when the Spirit transforms our hearts, we become more generous and willing to take care of others. Third, recognizing that the Lord is King helps us trust God's direction even when we do not fully understand it. Finally, whenever life becomes confusing or difficult, we should turn our eyes to Jesus lifted up on the cross, because in him we find healing, hope, and new life. If we remain connected to our loving God, like the kite connected to the string, our lives will rise higher and higher toward the love and purpose God has prepared for us. Let this be our prayer as we celebrate this Eucharist. Amen. Let us bring all our praise to our loving God. Let us pray for the church that, like the first Christian community, we may be united in mind and heart and always love our neighbor. We pray to the Lord. Let us pray for the world, especially for peace. We pray to the Lord. For the sick and suffering, homebound or those in hospitals for their healing, grace, and strength. We pray to the Lord. For all those in our daily TV Mass Prayer Intentions book, we pray to the Lord. For the month of April, our community prays that all who are burdened by grief or discouragement may be lifted by the light of the risen Christ and renewed in hope. We pray to the Lord. Lord hear our prayer. We pray for all the departed members of our families and communities that the Lord may grant them eternal peace. We pray to the Lord. We make these prayers through Christ our Lord. Amen. Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation. For through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you, fruit of the earth and work of human hands. It will become for us the bread of life. Blessed be God forever. Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you. Through the wine and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink. Blessed be God forever. Grant we pray, O Lord, that we may always find delight in these fascistal mysteries, so that the renewal constantly at work within us may be the cause of our unending joy through Christ our Lord. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Lift up your hearts. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation at all times to acclaim you, O Lord, but in this time above all, to love you at more gloriously, when Christ our Passover has been sacrificed. For He is the true Lamb who has taken away the sins of the world. By dying he has destroyed our death, and by rising restored our life. Therefore, overcome with paschal joy, every land, every people exalts in your praise, and even the heavenly powers with angelic hosts sing together the unending hymn of your glory as they acclaim.

SPEAKER_05

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

SPEAKER_03

You are indeed holy, O Lord, and all you have created rightly gives you praise, for through your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, by the power and working of the Holy Spirit, you give life to all things and make them holy, and you never cease to gather our people to yourself, so that from the rising of the sun to his setting, a pure sacrifice may be offered to your name. Therefore, O Lord, we humbly implore you, by the same Spirit, graciously make holy these gifts we have brought to you for consecration, that they may become the body and blood of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, at whose command we celebrate these mysteries. For on the night he was betrayed, he himself took bread, and giving you thanks, he set the blessing, broke the bread, and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body which will be given up for you. In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and giving you thanks, he said the blessing and gave the chalice to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is a chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me. Therefore, O Lord, as we celebrate the memorial of the saving passion of your Son, his wondrous resurrection and ascension into heaven, and as we look forward to his second coming, we offer you in thanksgiving this holy and living sacrifice. Look, we pray upon the oblation of your church, and recognizing the sacrificial victim by whose death you will to reconcile us to yourself, grant that we who are nourished by the body and blood of your Son and filled with His Holy Spirit may become one body, one spirit in Christ. May He make of us an eternal offering to you, so that we may obtain an inheritance with your elect, especially with the most blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with Blessed Joseph, her spouse, with the blessed apostles and glorious martyrs, and with all the saints. On whose constant intercession in your presence we rely for unfailing help. May this sacrifice of our reconciliation we pray, O Lord, advance the peace and salvation of all the world. Be pleased to confirm in faith and charity your pilgrim church on earth, with your servant Leo, our Pope, Francis our Bishop, the Order of Bishops, all the clergy, and the entire people you have gained for your own. Listen graciously to the prayers of this family whom you have summoned before you. In your compassion, O merciful Father, gather to yourself all your children scattered throughout the world, to our departed brothers and sisters, and to all who are pleasing to you at their passing from this life, give kind admittance to your kingdom. There we hope to enjoy forever the fullness of your glory through Christ our Lord, through whom you bestow on the world all that is good.

SPEAKER_02

Through him and with him any in him. Oh God Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours forever and ever.

SPEAKER_03

At the saviour's command and formed by the divine teaching, we dare to say, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily prayer, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power, the glory are yours, now and forever. Lord Jesus Christ, who said your apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever.

SPEAKER_06

Amen.

SPEAKER_03

The peace of the Lord be with you always. And with your spirit. Let us offer one another the sign of peace. Behold the Lamb of God. Behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter into my roof, but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed.

SPEAKER_00

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in this holy sacrament of the altar. I love you above all things, and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come spiritually into my soul, so that I may unite myself wholly to you now and forever. Amen.

SPEAKER_03

Hear, O Lord, our prayers that this most holy exchange, by which you have redeemed us, may bring your health in this present life and ensure for us eternal gladness through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you.

SPEAKER_07

And with your spirit.

SPEAKER_03

The Mass is ended. Let us go in the love of Christ.

SPEAKER_07

Thanks be to God.

SPEAKER_00

Our thanks to our donors for the gift of this mass.
