From the St. Ignatius Chapel at the Manresa Jesuit Spiritual Renewal Center in Pickering, Ontario. The National Catholic Broadcasting Council presents the Daily TV Mass.

SPEAKER_02

Welcome to the celebration of the Daily TV Mass. I'm Father Peter Turone, and today our humilist is Deacon Robert Kinghorn. The televising of this mass is made possible by the contribution from an anonymous donor from North York, Ontario. This Mass is offered for the living and deceased members of the Villa Real Alonzo and Diaz families, and for the intentions of our brothers and sisters and their families, for the salvation of the souls of deceased family members, including recently deceased in 2025, Jason Navarro Villarreal, Edgardo Diaz, and Ferdi Innocencio, and in 2026, Consolación Villarreal Inocencio, and for the souls in purgatory who have no one to pray for them. Also for our stronger faith and return to the church of family members for world peace and in thanksgiving for the blessings received from their families. Our thanks to our donor for making it possible for tens of thousands of the faithful across Canada, the USA, and around the world to share in this celebration. In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_08

Amen.

SPEAKER_02

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

SPEAKER_08

And with your Spirit.

SPEAKER_02

Brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries. I confess to Almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do. Through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault. Therefore I ask Blessed Mary, ever virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Lord have mercy.

SPEAKER_08

Lord have mercy.

SPEAKER_02

Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy.

SPEAKER_08

Lord have mercy.

SPEAKER_02

Let us pray. O God, who restore us to eternal life in the resurrection of Christ, grant your people constancy and faith and hope, that we may never doubt the promises of which we have learned from you. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.

SPEAKER_08

Amen.

SPEAKER_00

A reading from the Arts of the Apostles. While Paul and Barnabas were at Lystra, some Jews came there from Antioch and Iconium and won over the crowds. Then they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead. But when the disciples surrounded him, he got up and went into the city, and the next day he went on with Barnabas to Derby. After Paul and Barnabas had proclaimed the good news to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, then unto Iconium and Antioch. There they strengthened the souls of the disciples and encouraged them to continue in the faith, saying, It is through many persecutions that we must enter the kingdom of God. And after they had appointed elders for them in each church with prayer and fasting, they entrusted them to the Lord, in whom they had come to believe. Then they passed through Pisidia and came to Pamphylia. When they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Atalia. From there they sailed back to Antioch, where they had been commanded to the grace of God for the work that they had completed. When they arrived, they called the church together and related all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith for the Gentiles. And they stayed there with the disciples for some time.

SPEAKER_01

I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, I am going away, and I am coming to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. And now I've told you this before it occurs, so that when it does occur, you may believe. Many people, if you want to find out truth, they go to AI, don't they? Where do we go? We go to JC, Jesus the Christ, the Word of God. This is where truth is in the world. So today I as I say gospel means good news. But some days when you read the and listen to the readings, it doesn't sound like very good news, does it? We heard that about the disciples being persecuted and all of the anger that was against them. But we always have to remember that Christ came to earth to make us great. Great witnesses to the power of God through the Holy Spirit. Great witnesses by our own actions, our own actions that God loves each person in the world. No exception. God loves us. This is one of the great messages I think we can bring out to the world these days, where people are being put down and spoken about in a bad way. We can say, but God loves you and I love you as well. To help them realize who they are in the eyes of God. In the first reading today, we heard about the Acts of the Apostles. And that didn't sound like very good news, did it? Paul was stoned and left for dead. And he had to drag him into the city again. So I keep thinking to myself, if that's the good news, I'm not sure what the bad news is in this. But the people listened to the disciples. When Paul went right back into speak to them again once he recovered, and he kept on with that same message. Jesus Christ is the one. So this is, I think, our message as well. No matter what happens to us in our life, things happen that don't look as though they might be uh the work of God. And yet we trust in that Jesus Christ, that He will be with us in everything in life, no matter what's going on. You know, people's lives were changed as they saw the faithfulness of G to Jesus of his disciples. This was a witness of these early disciples. Even though they were beaten and put down, they still came back because we followed Jesus and He can't stop us. So this is the good news that we hear. That that same Jesus is with us as we go out into the world to minister with people. And then, of course, in the gospel we just heard the Last Supper. We know it so well. Jesus knew he was going to die. He was preparing the disciples for that. And he said, I'm going to be leaving you just now. Before he did though, he did that great act of service. He dressed as a servant, knelt down, and washed the feet of a disciples. What a great action that is. We should be like that as well, figuratively washing the feet of others, especially the poorest of the poor. The people who are told that you mean nothing in life and are put down. We have to tell them, yes, you are a somebody because God loves you and you're a good person. So I think this really is what we're talking about today. Just the different ways that we minister in life. And no matter what comes our way, I'm a member of a community in Scotland called the Community of the Transfiguration. And they've got some orders have rules, they have suggestions. And one of the suggestions I love about what they're saying is that remember that what we have to endure in life is as important as what we can do. What a great message. When we're getting older, maybe problems in the family, whatever's there. But when we endure that and we raise it up to the Lord and ask for mercy, it's just as much as what we can do when we're younger. So this is good news today, as I say. No matter what happens, the Lord has says to us, as he said to disciples in the reading, peace I leave with you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. These are the words of Jesus the Christ. And no artificial intelligence can dream of something like that. Let me tell you a quick story. It happened just last Thursday. I was down in the streets as I always go down there, and I got to an area where there's a lot of drugs, and the main part of the drugs had moved away from that to another area. I was walking along, and this lady was sitting in a doorway trying to light her crack pipe. She must have been about in her 70s. And I stopped with her and I spoke to her. She said, I've been married 27 years, and I never thought I'd be a crack addict. She said, Would you pray for me? So as I always do, I reach out and I put my hands on her head and I prayed for her. And I said to her, No, you're a good person. And I blessed her. And she said later on when I was talking to her, just to continue to the discussion, she suddenly stopped me and said, Could you tell me again I'm a good person? I need to hear that. I need to hear that. So let us pray now to the Father. Let's pray to the Father who sent the Son Jesus to act through you and to me to be witnesses of God's sustaining love in the world. For all those in our daily TV Mass Prayer Intentions book, we pray to the Lord.

SPEAKER_09

Lord hear our prayer.

SPEAKER_01

For those who are facing martyrdom around the world because of their faith, that the Holy Spirit will sustain them in their witness to the love of God. We pray to the Lord.

SPEAKER_09

Lord your prayer.

SPEAKER_01

Throughout this month of May, our community prays to follow the example of Mary by offering joy, compassion, and mercy, especially to mothers, grandmothers, and all who lovingly serve those in need. We pray to the Lord. Heavenly Father, as we continue to celebrate this Easter season, we place our confidence and trust in your mercy through the death and resurrection of your Son Jesus. Amen.

SPEAKER_02

Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you, the fruit of the earth and work of human hands, will become for us the bread of life.

SPEAKER_08

Blessed be God forever.

SPEAKER_02

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation. For through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you, fruit of the vine, a work of human hands. It will become our spiritual drink.

SPEAKER_03

Blessed be God forever.

SPEAKER_10

Spirit of God that I will be accepted by you, Lord, for sacrificers.

SPEAKER_02

Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God the Almighty Father. Receive, O Lord, we pray, these offerings of your exultant church, and as you have given her cause for such great gladness, grant also that the gifts we bring may bear fruit in perpetual happiness through Christ our Lord.

unknown

Amen.

SPEAKER_02

The Lord be with you.

SPEAKER_09

And with your spirit.

SPEAKER_02

Lift up your hearts.

SPEAKER_09

We lift them up to the Lord.

SPEAKER_02

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just truly right and just. Our duty and our salvation at all times to acclaim you, O Lord. But in this time above all, to Lod you up more gloriously, when Christ our Passover has been sacrificed, for he is the true Lamb who has taken away the sins of the world. By dying he has destroyed our death, and by rising restored our life. Therefore, overcome with paschal joy. Every land, every people exalts in your praise, and even the heavenly powers with the angelic hosts sing together the unending hymn of your glory as they acclaim. Make holy, therefore, these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewful, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion. He took bread and giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of it. For this is my body, which will be given up for you. For this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me. The mystery of fate.

SPEAKER_05

We proclaim your death alone and profess your prestion until you come out.

SPEAKER_02

Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks to you of held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. Humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Leo, our Pope, and Francis, our bishop, and all the clergy. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy. Welcome them into the light of your face. Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, who will bless Joseph, our spouse, with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages. We may merit to be co-heirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ. Through him and with him and in him, O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours for ever and ever.

unknown

Amen.

SPEAKER_02

At the Savior's command, informed by divine teaching, we dare to say, Our Father, who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

unknown

For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

SPEAKER_02

Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on her sins, but on the faith of her church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever.

SPEAKER_07

Amen.

SPEAKER_02

The peace of the Lord be with you always.

SPEAKER_01

And with your spirit. Let us share with one another a sign of Christ's peace.

SPEAKER_05

Peace be of God, you take away the sins of love. You take away the sins of love.

SPEAKER_02

Behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.

SPEAKER_04

Please join me now in this act of spiritual communion. My Jesus, I believe that you are present in this holy sacrament of the altar. I love you above all things, and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come spiritually into my soul, so that I may unite myself wholly to you now and forever. Amen.

SPEAKER_02

Look with kindness upon your people, O Lord, and grant we pray that those you are pleased to renew by eternal mysteries may attain in their flesh the incorruptible glory of the resurrection through Christ our Lord. The Lord be with you.

SPEAKER_09

And with your Spirit.

SPEAKER_02

May Almighty God bless you. The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

unknown

Amen.

SPEAKER_01

Go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life.

SPEAKER_04

Our thanks to our donor for the gift of this mass.

SPEAKER_06

We have some.
