From the St. Ignatius Chapel at the Manresa Jesuit Spiritual Renewal Center in Pickering, Ontario. The National Catholic Broadcasting Council presents the Daily TV Mass.

SPEAKER_02

Welcome to the celebration of the Daily TV Mass. I'm Father Rushan Lloyd DeSouza. The televising of this Mass is made possible by the contribution from an anonymous donor from Prince George, British Columbia. This Mass is offered in memory of her husband Louis. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

unknown

Amen.

SPEAKER_02

As we gather here today to celebrate this Holy Eucharist, we are reminded of God's constant presence in our life. In moments of joy and in moments of uncertainty, the Lord works with us, guiding and strengthening us through the Holy Spirit. Let us come before Him with open hearts, ready to receive His word and allow it to transform our lives. Let us seek God's mercy. You were sent to heal the contrite of heart. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. You came to call sinners. Christ have mercy. You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for all of us. Lord have mercy.

SPEAKER_06

Lord have mercy.

SPEAKER_02

May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen. Let us pray. Grant, O merciful God, that we may experience at all times the fruit produced by the paschal observances. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles. With Paul, we set sail from Troas and took a straight course to Samathras. The following day to Neapolis, and from there to Philippi, which is a leading city of the district of Macedonia and a Roman colony. We remained in this city for some days. On the Sabbath day we went outside the gate by the river, where we were we supposed there was a place of prayer, and we sat down and spoke to the women who had gathered there. A certain woman named Lydia, a worshiper of God, was listening to us. She was from the city of Tiatara and a dealer in purple cloth. The Lord opened her heart to listen eagerly to what was said by Paul. When she and her household were baptized, she urged us, saying, If you have judged me to be a faithful to the Lord, come and stay at my home. And she prevailed upon us. The word of the Lord.

SPEAKER_07

Thanks before.

SPEAKER_04

Sing to the Lord a new song his praise in the assembly of the faithful. Let Israel be glad in its make. For the light takes pleasure in his people. He adorns the humble with victory. The light takes in his people. And you also will be my witness Alleluia.

SPEAKER_07

And with your spirit.

SPEAKER_02

When Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world and go to the Father, he said to the disciples, When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf. You also are to testify, because you have been with me from the beginning. I have said these things to you to keep you from stumbling. They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, an hour is coming when those who kill you will think that by doing so they are offering worship to God. And they will do this because they have not known the Father or me. But I have said these things to you so that when their hour comes, you may remember that I told you about them. The gospel of the Lord. Everything felt unfamiliar, the language, the culture, even the way people interacted. On his first day, he sat alone during lunch, feeling lost and uncertain. But a kind teacher noticed him, sat beside him gently, and said, You are not alone here. I will help you. That simple assurance gave him courage. Over time, he found friends, learned the language, and grew in confidence. All because someone stood by him when he felt most alone. In today's readings from the Gospel of John and Acts of the Apostles, we encounter a similar theme. God never leaves us alone, even in unfamiliar or difficult moments. In Acts we see Paul the Apostle and his companions arriving in Philippi, a new and unknown place. There they meet Lydia, a woman whose heart the Lord opens to receive the message of the gospel. Lydia's openness leads not only to her own conversion, but also to the transformation of her household. Her story reminds us that God is always at work, preparing our hearts and guiding encounters, even when we step into the unknown. In the Gospel of the Day, Jesus speaks about the coming of the Advocate, the Holy Spirit. He tells his disciples that the Spirit will testify to the truth and strengthen them to bear witness. At the same time, Jesus does not hide the reality of challenges. He wants them that they will face opposition and even persecution. Yet his message is not one of fear, but of assurance. The Holy Spirit will be with them, guiding, strengthening, and reminding them of all that He has taught. For us today, these readings carry a powerful message. Like Paul, we are often called to step into unfamiliar situations, new responsibilities, new relationships, or even moments of uncertainty in our faith. Like Lydia, we are invited to open our hearts to God's grace and allow his word to transform us. And like the disciples, we may face difficulties or opposition when we try to live out our faith authentically. But here is the good news. We are never alone. The Holy Spirit, the Advocate, is always with us. The Spirit speaks in the quiet moments of prayer, strengthens us in times of struggle, and gives us the courage to stand firm in our beliefs. Sometimes we may not recognize His presence immediately, just as Lydia may not have expected her life to change that way. Yet God is constantly working within us and around us. This also challenges us to become instruments of God's presence for others. Just as the teacher reached out to the lonely student, we are called to notice those who feel left out, discouraged, or lost. A simple act of kindness, a listening ear, or a word of encouragement can become a channel of God's grace in someone's life. We are called not only to receive the Spirit, but also to share that Spirit through our actions. Moreover, Lydia's response teaches us about hospitality and generosity. After her conversion, she invites Paul and his companions into a home. Her faith is not just personal, it becomes active and visible. In the same way, our faith must move beyond words into action, into love, service, and openness to others. So, my brothers and sisters, the message of today's readings is both comforting and challenging. Comforting because God never abandons us. Challenging because we are called to witness to that presence in our daily lives, even when it is not easy. I want to conclude with a few simple yet powerful life messages for our daily journey of faith. First, trust that God is always with you, especially in moments of uncertainty and change. Secondly, life often brings unexpected challenges, but we are never alone. God works with us, guiding us even when we cannot see the way ahead. Trusting Him gives us peace and courage. Third, be open like Lydia, allow God to touch your heart and transform your life. When we listen with openness and humility, God works within us, shaping us into better persons and leading us towards His purpose. Fourthly, rely on the Holy Spirit for strength and courage when you face difficulties. In times of fear, confusion, or weakness, the Holy Spirit becomes our comforter and guide, helping us remain strong in faith. Fifthly, be a source of God's love to others through simple acts of kindness and hospitality. A caring word, a helping hand, or a welcoming heart can make a big difference in someone's life. Finally, live your faith actively, not just in words, but through actions that reflect Christ's love each day. Let your life be a witness to others. May the Holy Spirit guide and strengthen us always. Amen. Let us bring all our prayers to our loving God who guides us through our journey. Let us pray for the church that we may be united in one heart and mind. We pray to the Lord.

SPEAKER_07

Lord, hear our prayer.

SPEAKER_02

We pray for the world, especially for peace where there is war, hatred, and violence. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. For those in our daily TV Mas Prayer Intentions book, we pray to the Lord.

SPEAKER_07

Lord, hear our prayer.

SPEAKER_02

For all the mothers and grandmothers who play a motherly role in our life, that the Lord may bless them, comfort them, and strengthen them. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. For all the deceased members of our families, our loved ones, that the Lord may grant them eternal peace. We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer. We make these prayers through Christ our Lord. Amen. Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation. For through your goodness we have received the bread that we offer you, fruit of the earth and work of human hands, which will become for us the bread of life. Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you through the wine and work of human hands, which will become our spiritual drink. Blessed be God forever. Receive, O Lord, we pray, these offerings of your exaltant church, and as you have given her cause for such great gladness, grant also that the gifts we bring may bear fruit in perpetual happiness through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Lift up your hearts.

SPEAKER_07

We lift up with the Lord.

SPEAKER_02

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation at all times to acclaim you, O Lord, but in this time above all, to love you at more gloriously, when Christ our Passover has been sacrificed. For he is the true Lamb who has taken away the sins of the world. By dying he has destroyed our death, and by rising restored our life. Therefore, overcome with paschal joy, every land, every people exalts in your praise, and even the heavenly powers with angelic hosts sing together the unending hymn of your glory as they acclaim.

SPEAKER_04

Holy, holy, holy light God of an underface of your glory.

SPEAKER_02

For through your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, by the power and working of the Holy Spirit, you give life to all things and make them holy, and you never cease to gather a people to yourself, so that from the rising of the Son to His setting, a pure sacrifice may be offered to your name. Therefore, O Lord, we humbly implore you, by the same Spirit, graciously make holy these gifts we have brought to you for consecration, that they may become the body and blood of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, at whose command we celebrate these mysteries. For on the night he was betrayed, he himself took bread, and giving you thanks, he said the blessing, broke the bread, and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you. In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and giving you thanks, he said the blessing and gave the chalice to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is a chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me. Therefore, O Lord, as we celebrate the memorial of the saving passion of your Son, his wondrous resurrection and ascension into heaven, and as we look forward to his second coming, we offer you in thanksgiving this holy and living sacrifice. Look, we pray upon the oblation of your church, and recognizing the sacrificial victim by whose death you will reconcile us to yourself. Grant that we who are nourished by the body and blood of your Your Son, and filled with His Holy Spirit, may become one body, one spirit in Christ. May He make of us an eternal offering to you, so that we may obtain an inheritance with your elect, especially with the most blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with Blessed Joseph, her spouse, with your blessed apostles and glorious martyrs, and with all the saints, on whose constant intercession in your presence we rely for unfailing health. May this sacrifice of our reconciliation we pray, O Lord, advance the peace and salvation of all the world. Be pleased to confirm in faith and charity your pilgrim church on earth, with your servant Leo, our Pope, and Francis, our bishop, the Order of Bishops, all the clergy, the entire people you have gained for your own. Listen graciously to the prayers of this family, whom you have summoned before you. In your compassion, O merciful Father, gather to yourself all your children scattered throughout the world, to our departed brothers and sisters, and to all who are pleasing to you at their passing from this life. Give kind admittance to your kingdom. There we hope to enjoy forever the fullness of your glory through Christ our Lord, through whom you bestow on the world all that is good.

SPEAKER_01

Through him and with him any. Oh God Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours forever and everything.

SPEAKER_02

At the saviour's command informed by the divine teaching, we dare to say, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power, the glory are yours, now and forever. Lord Jesus Christ, who set your apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen. The peace of the Lord be with you always. Let us offer one another the sign of peace. Peace be with you. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I'm not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed.

SPEAKER_03

Please join me now in this act of spiritual communion. My Jesus, I believe that you are present in this holy sacrament of the altar. I love you above all things, and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come spiritually into my soul, so that I may unite myself wholly to you now and forever. Amen.

SPEAKER_02

Let us pray. Look with kindness upon your people, O Lord, and grant we pray that those you were pleased to renew by eternal mysteries may attain in their flesh the incorruptible glory of the resurrection through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you.

SPEAKER_07

And with your spirit.

SPEAKER_02

May Almighty God bless you, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. The Mass is ended. Let us go in the love of Christ. Thanks be to God.

SPEAKER_03

Our thanks to our donor for the gift of this Mass.
