Hello and welcome to the celebration of the Daily TV Mass. I'm Father John Berteo. The televising of this Mass is made possible by the contributions from two donors. The first is an anonymous donor from Denver, Colorado, for the special intentions of the family, both living and deceased. The second is anyone from Calgary, Alberta, for those who are sick, for protection and peace within families, for all souls, and for peace throughout the world. Our thanks to the donors of this mass, to the donors of the gift of this mass, that we begin in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

SPEAKER_00

May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen. Let us pray in today. We celebrate Our Lady of Fatima, that was whose appearance was on May 13, 1916. And we pray. O God, who chose the mother of your son to be our mother also. Grant us that persevering in penance and prayers for the salvation of the world, we may further more effectively each other the reign of Christ. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.

SPEAKER_02

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles. Those who conducted Paul brought him as far as Athens, and after receiving instructions to have Silas and Timothy join him as soon as possible, they left him. Then Paul stood in front of the Areopagus and said, Athenians, I see how extremely religious you are in every way, for I went through the city and looked carefully at the objects of your worship. I found among them an altar with the inscription to an unknown God. What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you, the God who made the world and everything in it. He who is Lord of heaven and earth does not live in shrines made of human hands, nor is he served by human hands as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mortals life and breath and all things. From one ancestor he made all nations to inhabit the whole earth, and he allotted the times of their existence and the boundaries of the places where they would live, so they would search for God and perhaps grope for him and find him, though indeed he is not far from each one of us, for in him we live and move and have our being, as even some of your own poets have said, for we too are his offspring. Since we are God's offspring, we ought not to think that the deity is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of mortals. While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will have the world judged in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead. When they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some scoffed, but others said, We will hear you again about this. At this point, Apollo left them, but some of them joined him and became believers, including Dionysius and Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them. After this, Apol left Athens and went to Corinth. The word of the Lord.

SPEAKER_03

Heaven and earth are full of your glory. The Father will send you the Holy Spirit says Hall to be with you forever.

SPEAKER_05

And with your spirit.

SPEAKER_00

When Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world and go to the Father, he said to the disciples, I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot hear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak on his own, but I will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me because he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine. For this reason I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you. The Gospel of the Lord. In the early uh 1990s, such as as I was in much enjoying what I was doing, both traveling and uh working, like everybody else, something inside me was very unsettled until one day my pastor called me to uh into the the sacristy after mass and asked me what was wrong because I appeared to be very distracted with all kinds of things going on in my head. After a long chat, he suggested that uh I uh go to uh in uh a place in Portugal, Fátima, Portugal, to just spend some time alone and to listen to God and to see what he wanted me to do with the rest of my life. After a week or so, I was so bored that I decided to go for, you know, a very, very quick and easy confession. Forty-five minutes later, uh my questions were all answered. It's as if the priest, interesting, as if the priest had, who was on the other side of the wall, uh, had uh a script that had my name on it. My main issue that I have no problem in telling you was a fear to surrender. Surrender to God and what he wanted me to do, not what I wanted to do. So during that time I also did some studying and uh in the events of Fatima as I was there to learn some interesting points that I'd like to share with you. First, in 1916, the angel of Portugal, that called also the Gabriel, visited with the three children or the seers to prepare them for what was about to happen to them. At that point, I remember the saying that once you have been touched by an angel, all fears disappear from you. This was the case when on May 13, 1917, Our Lady appeared to them, no fear, just a beautiful lady that was greeting them. As the events unfolded, the children were uh threatened by the civil authorities and uh even the family. They were even threatened to be boiled in hot boiling oil, but nothing disturbed them. Why? Because they were telling the truth. The only time that they feared was when our lady showed them a vision of hell. Both Francisco and Jacinta were particularly upset with seeing so many souls suffering. Our Lady taught them that uh this beautiful prayer that hopefully if you pray the rosary, you would know it. And I quoted, Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in need of your mercy. End quote. Both the children went to heaven shortly after that, but Jacinto and Francisco. Jacinta and Francisco. Sister Lucia was taken to uh a place in um in Spain because they wanted her to get away from everything where nobody where she was not known. It was there that our lady revealed the first for five five first Saturdays of the month to Sister Lucia. According to my research, Sister Lucia was challenged in many ways. Her name was changed to uh so the sisters would not know her uh or who she was or what she had seen or who she had seen, and she had to learn how to speak both and how to write, both in English and Spanish. She knew no Spanish, and she did not know how to write in Portuguese. The only person who knew her true identity was the Bishop of Lerilla, who later on sent her on to Porto, Portugal, again under a different name. This one was Dolores. At the age of 18, she expressed a desire to went to the Discult's Carmelite Order, but the uh the Dorithian sisters persuaded her to go to their novitiate, and she became a Carmelite in 1949. I'm sorry. So many they remember just to give you very quick glimpses to what happened to Sisters Lucia. By December 15, 1925, while performing her assigned duties, she encountered a boy whom she wanted to teach the Hail Mary and urged him to go to a chapel to recite a short prayer. Several weeks later, in February 1926, Sister Lucia said that she met that boy again and asked him if he asked her if she had revealed to the world what the Heavenly Mother had asked her to do. At that moment, the boy transformed into a splendid child with whom Sister Lucia continued the conversation. The little boy insisted that she spread devotion the first Saturdays because many souls would begin it and not end. And now I'm not sure if you're able to see it up on the screen or not. In the slide of Sister Lucia, who is having she's in deep prayer, deep meditation, in receiving that image and the glory of our Our Lady telling her what to do with the first Saturdays. As she was praying, her cell was illuminated with the supernatural light. Sister Lucia writes, and I quote, Our Lady, as if waiting to instill courage in me, gently placed her motherly hand on my right shoulder, showing me that the same, at the same time, her immaculate heart, which she held in her other hand, surrounded by thorns. And this was, of course, as I read, according to the memories. In short, the first Saturdays are recommended for at least five months in a row. It involves going to confession, attending the Holy Eucharist, and spreading, spending at least 15 minutes reflecting on Mary's love for each one of us and consoling her son who suffers so much for the sins of the world. Sister Lucia died just a few years ago, and God willing, one day will be declared a saint as now she has been declared blessed. As I have so many times mentioned, Fatima is a very, very big part of my life. So much so that on May 13th, the year 2000, I totally surrendered to the bishop and the priesthood of Jesus Christ, who today I celebrate with great joy in serving you, the congregation, and every person I meet around the world. Let us pray for one another. Let us pray for more vocations. Let us pray to our Lady of Fatima for all our needs and give thanks to her in a very special way. And please, with me, as we conclude, we pray that beautiful prayer that is in St. Luke's Gospel. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Our Lady of Adima, pray for us. Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for humans that receive the bread we offer you, fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of light. Blessed be God. Through the mystery of this water when wine may you come to share in the divinity of Christ, to humble themselves to share in our humanity. Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation. For through we have received the wine we offer you. Fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink. Blessed be God forever. With humble spirit. Lord, watch where my iniquity and cleanse me from my sins.

Thank you.

SPEAKER_00

Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father. For the praise and for our church. Receive, O Lord, we ask the prayers of your people with the set sacrificial offerings that through the intercession of Blessed Mary, the mother of your son, no petition may go unanswered, no request may be made in vain. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Lift up your hearts. Lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just truly right and just our duty and our salvation, always in every word to give you thanks, Lord, Holy Father, and my eternal God, and to praise, bless, and glorify your name on the motherhood of the Blessed Virgin Mary. For by the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit, she conceived your only begotten Son, and without losing the glory of her virginity, brought forth into the world the eternal light, Jesus Christ our Lord. Through him the angels praise your majesty, the means of door and power strembled before you. Heaven and the virtues of heaven and blessed seraphim worship together with exaltation. May our voices we pray join with theirs in humble praise as we acclaim.

SPEAKER_03

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the hast. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.

SPEAKER_00

Make holy therefore these gifts, we pray, by sending down your spirit upon them like the dew fall, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed, and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread and giving thanks broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of it. For this is my body, which will be given up for you. For this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me. Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the red of life and the child of salvation. Giving thanks that you felt us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. How we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world and bring you to the fullness of charity. Together we lay our Pope Francis, our bishop, and all the clergy. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy. Welcome them into the light of your face. By mercy on us all, we pray that with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with the Blessed Joseph, our spouse, with the Blessed Apostles, and all the saints you please you throughout the ages, we may merit to be co-heres to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ. Through him and with him and in him. O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours for ever and ever. Amen. At the Savior's command, informed by divine teaching, we dare to say, Our Father, who art in heaven, God be done, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, you pray from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our days, and by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress. As we wait to bless that hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus Christ, you say to your apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church. And grace, you are peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen. The peace of the Lord be with you always. And in your spirit. Just pause for a moment and think of someone who being different with and wisdom, God's peace through the Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_03

You take away the sins of the world. Have mercy on lust. Lamb come you take away the sins of the world. Have mercy on us. Lamb come. You take away the sins of the world. Grand peace.

SPEAKER_00

Behold the Lamb of God. Behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not with thee.

SPEAKER_01

Please join me now in this act of spiritual communion. My Jesus, I believe that you are present in this holy sacrament of the altar. I love you above all things, and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come spiritually into my soul, so that I may unite myself wholly to you now and forever. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

The Lord be with you.

SPEAKER_05

And with your strength.

SPEAKER_00

May Almighty God bless you, the Father and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let us go from this Eucharist in the peace and love of Christ. Good luck.
