This Mass is offered for deceased relatives and friends, for the good health of family and friends, and for all the souls in purgatory who have no one to pray for them. SPEAKER_05As we come together for this celebration, let us thank and praise God for his bountiful blessings, for the gift of faith and family. And today is the memorial of Abbot Saint Benedict. Saint Benedict was an outstanding master in the school of divine service. And today, as we honor Saint Benedict, we pray that we too may use all our talents and gifts for the glory of God to build his kingdom here on earth. To enter into this celebration, let us call to mind our sins and seek God's mercy. I confess to Almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts, in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault. Therefore, I ask Blessed Mary, our virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Lord, have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy. Let us pray. O God, who made the abbot Saint Benedict, an outstanding master in the school of divine service, grant we pray that putting nothing before love of you, we may hasten with a loving heart in the way of your commands. Through Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.
SPEAKER_01A reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah. In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne high and lofty, and the hem of his robe filled the temple. Seraphs were in attendance above him, each had six wings, with two they covered their faces, and with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. And one called to another and said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of his glory. The pivots of the thresholds shook at the voices of those who called, and the house filled with smoke. And I said, Woe is me, I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, yet my eyes have seen the king, the Lord of hosts. Then one of the seraphs flew to me, holding alive coal that had been taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. The seraph touched my mouth with it and said, Now that this has touched your lips, your guilt has departed, and your sin is blotted out. Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? And I said, Here am I, send me the word of the Lord.

He has established the world, it shall never be moved. Your throne is established from of old, you are from everlasting. The Lord is king, he is roped in majesty. SPEAKER_01Glory to you, Lord.
SPEAKER_05Jesus said to his disciples, Her disciple is not about the teacher, nor her slave about the master. It is enough for the disciple to be like the teacher, and the slave like the master. If they have called the master of the house Belzebel, how much more will they malign those of his household? So have near no fear of them, for nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known. What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim from the house tops. Do not fear those who kill the body, but cannot kill the soul. Rather, fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell, are not two sparrows sold for a penny, yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your father, and even the hairs of your head are all counted. So do not be afraid, you are of more value than many sparrows. Everyone, therefore, who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge before my father in heaven, but whoever denies me before others, I also will deny before my father in heaven. The gospel of the Lord. In August 2018, the world was captivated by the rescue of twelve boys and their soccer coach trapped inside Tam Long K in Thailand. Heavy rains had flooded the cave, cutting off their escape. Day after day, rescuers from around the world worked through the darkness, rising waters, and dangerous narrow passages. Many feared the boys would never come out alive. One former Thai Navy SEAL Salmon Kunin gave his life while trying to deliver oxygen tanks to help them survive. His courage inspired the entire rescue mission. After many tense days, all twelve boys and their coach were brought out safely. What made this rescue remarkable was not only skill and teamwork, but courage in the face of fear. The rescuers entered darkness because they believed life on the other side was worth fighting for. This story mirrors the message of today's readings. In the first reading from Isaiah, the prophet encounters the majesty and holiness of God. He sees the Lord seated on a throne high and exalted, while the seraphim cry out, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts. Faced with such holiness, Isaiah becomes deeply aware of his own weaknesses and sinfulness. He cries out, Oh is me, I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips. Yet God does not reject him. God purifies him, removes his guilt, and prepares him for a greater mission. Then comes the divine question, Whom shall I send? Who will go for us? Isaiah answers with courage. Here am I, send me. In today's gospel reading, we see Jesus preparing his disciples for mission. He knows they will face rejection, suffering, and opposition. That's why three times he repeats, do not be afraid. Fear is one of the strongest forces in human life. We fear failure, rejection, sickness, uncertainty, and loss always. Psychologists tell us something very interesting about fear and anxiety that we face. When anxiety overwhelms us, the mind often begins to ask endless what if questions. What if I fail? What if I lose everything? What if things get worse? What if no one helps me? The anxious mind loves to imagine the worst possible future. It pulls us away from the present moment and traps us in imagined disasters. But faith teaches us to answer anxiety with a stronger truth. Whenever mind says, What if, the heart of faith must reply, even if the Lord is with me, even if things do not go according to my plan, the Lord is with me. Even if I walk through suffering, the Lord is with me. Even if I face uncertainty, loss or pain, the Lord is with me. This changes everything. Faith does not always remove the storm, but it changes how we stand in the storm. That is exactly what Jesus teaches when he says, are not two sparrows sold for a penny, yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from your father. Even the hairs of your head are all counted. God knows every detail of our lives, every burden, every tear, every hidden struggle is seen by our Father. The psalmist proclaims, the Lord is King, He is robed in majesty. This is the foundation of courage. Why should we not fear? Because God reigns. Fear does not reign. Anxiety does not reign. Darkness does not reign. Death does not reign. God alone is king. When we forget this, fear grows stronger, louder. But when we remember who sits on the throne, peace begins to return. Most of us may never face dramatic persecution, but every day we are called to witness to Christ through honesty, forgiveness, compassion, and faith. Jesus says, Everyone who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge before my Father in heaven. Faith cannot remain hidden. Like Isaiah, each of us hears God asking today, Whom shall I send? The question is not whether God calls us, He does. The question is whether we will respond in fear or in faith. The lessons that we carry today is very important for us. God calls imperfect people. Like Isaiah, we may feel unworthy, but God purifies and strengthens us. Do not let what if control your life. When fear asks, what if, answer with faith. Whatever happens, the Lord is with me. God knows every detail of our lives. Nothing escapes his loving care. Faith gives courage and uncertainty. Courage is not the absence of fear, but trusting God in the midst of fear. Say yes to God's call. When God asks, Whom shall I send? May we answer. Here I am, Lord, send me. Amen. Let us bring our prayers to our loving God. Let us pray for the church and for all the leaders and the faithful. Together, may we work for the kingdom of God. We pray to the Lord.

SPEAKER_05As a community prayer, let us give thanks for grandparents and elders like Saints Joachim and Anne, who nurture faith and family across generations with quiet strength. We pray to the Lord. We make these prayers through Christ our Lord. Amen. Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you, fruit of the earth, and work of human hands, which will become for us the bread of life. Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation. For through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you. Through the wine and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink. Blessed be God forever.

SPEAKER_05Pray, my brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, our Heavenly Father. Look kindly, Lord, upon these holy offerings, which we make in honor of Saint Benedict, and grant that by following his example in seeking you, we may merit the gifts of unity in your service and of peace through Christ our Lord. The Lord be with you.

SPEAKER_05Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just truly right and just our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God, through Christ our Lord. For as on the festival of Saint Benedict, you bid your church rejoice, so too you strengthen her by the example of his holy life, teach her by his words of preaching, and keep her safe in answer to his prayers. And so, with a company of angels and saints, we sing the hymn of your praise as without end we acclaim.
SPEAKER_04Holy, holy Lord God of hosts heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the hestan in the highest bless he who comes in the name of the Lord Hozana in the highest.
SPEAKER_05You are indeed holy, O Lord, the font of all holiness. Make holy therefore these gifts we pray, by sending down your spirit upon them like the dew fall, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion. He took bread, and giving you thanks broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you. In a similar way, when the supper was ended, he took the chalice and once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it. For this is a chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me. The mystery of faith.
SPEAKER_04When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.
SPEAKER_05Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of His death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. Humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Leo, our Pope, Francis, our bishop, all the religious clergy and the faithful. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy. Welcome them into the light of your face. Have mercy on us all, we pray that with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with Blessed Joseph, her spouse, with the blessed apostles, Saint Benedict, and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be called earth to eternal life, and we praise and glorify you through your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him and with him any name. Oh God Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours forever and ever Amen. At the serious command informed by the divine teaching, we dare to say, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed to thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily prayer and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ, for the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Lord Jesus Christ, who said the apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. The peace of the Lord be with you always.

SPEAKER_05Let us offer one another the sign of peace. Peace be with you. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I'm not worthy that you should enter under my room, but only say the word, and my soul shall be here.
SPEAKER_00Please join me now in this act of spiritual communion. My Jesus, I believe that you are present in this holy sacrament of the altar. I love you above all things, and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come spiritually into my soul, so that I may unite myself wholly to you now and forever. Amen.
SPEAKER_05Let us pray. Having received this pledge of eternal life, we humbly beseech you, O Lord, that attentive to the teaching of Saint Benedict, we may faithfully serve your designs and love one another with fervent charity through Christ our Lord. The Lord be with you.
