Welcome to the celebration of the Daily TV Mass. I am Father Prakash Anthony Luhale, and today our homelist is Deacon Robert Kinghorn. The television of this Mass is made possible by the contributions from three donors. The first is an anonymous donor from Neapian, Ontario, in thanksgiving for a lifetime of blessings received. The second are Jenny Mendis, Jacinta Pint, Juliana Kremzier, and their families from Canada and the United States in memory of Estras Mendis and the deceased and living members of the Arajo and Mendis family and friends. The third are Mark and Elizabeth Olivera from Sheffield, Vermont, in gratitude to God for their 30th wedding anniversary this year on May 31st. Also for the repose of the souls of the Olivera Porter and Galilean families and friends, that their family and friends may come to know God and his love more deeply. And for all viewers of the Daily TV Mass, may God be with you and bless you always. Our thanks to our donors for the gift of this Mass. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

SPEAKER_09

And with your Spirit.

SPEAKER_00

To prepare ourselves in a worthy manner, let us call to mind our sins and ask the Lord to forgive us. You were sent to heal the contrite. Lord have mercy.

SPEAKER_08

Lord have mercy.

SPEAKER_00

You came to call sinners, Christ have mercy. You plead for us at the right hand of the Father. Lord have mercy.

SPEAKER_08

Lord have mercy.

SPEAKER_00

May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life. Let us pray. Almighty ever-living God, whom taught by the Holy Spirit, we dare to call our Father. Bring, we pray to perfection in our hearts the Spirit of adoption as your sons and daughters, that we may merit to enter into the inheritance which you have promised. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever.

unknown

Amen.

SPEAKER_01

A reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah. The vision of Isaiah, son of Amos, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. Hear the word of the Lord. You are rulers of Sodom. Listen to the teaching of our fat our God, you people of Gomorrah. What to me is the multitude of your sacrifice, says the Lord. I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts. I do not delight in the blood of bulls or the lambs or of goats. When you come to appear before me, who ask this form from land from your hand? Trample my courts no more. Bring offerings is foretold. Incense is an adomation to me. New moon and Sabbath and calling of convocations I cannot endure. Solemn assemblies of iniquity. Your new moons, your pointed festivals, and your whole hates. They have come a burden to me. I am weary of bearing them. When you stretch out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you. Even though you make many prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are full of blood. Wash yourselves. Make yourselves clean. Remove the evil from your doings before my eyes. Cease to do evil. Learn to do good. Seek justice. Rescue the oppressed. Defend the orphan. Plead for the widow. The word of the Lord.

SPEAKER_05

To the upright I will show the saving power of God. Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you. Your burnt offerings are continually before me. I will not accept a bull from your house or goats from your falls. To the upright I will show the saving power of God. What right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips? For you hate discipline, and you cast my words behind you. To the upright I will show the saving power of God These things you have done and I have been silent. You thought that I was one just like yourself, but now I rebuke you and lay the charge before you To the upright I will show the saving power of God Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice sake, for the kingdom of heaven is there.

SPEAKER_09

And with your spirit.

SPEAKER_03

A reading from Holy Gospel according to Matthew.

SPEAKER_09

Glory to you, Lord.

SPEAKER_03

Jesus said to his disciples, Do not think I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I've not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to set man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, and one's foes will be members of one's own household. Whoever loves a father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Those who find their life will lose it. And those who lose their life for my sake will find it. Whoever welcomes you welcomes me. And whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Whoever welcomes a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward. And whoever welcomes a righteous person in the name of the righteous person will receive the reward of the righteous. And whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple, truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward. Now, when Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and proclaim his message to their cities. But I've said to people that following Jesus is in a way like going to a casino. You know, a casino. Now I'm not an expert in casinos. I think I've only been to one in my life. But when I went there, something occurred to me that you can't just be a spectator when you go to a casino. You have to be careful that where you're going. And if you stop and wait, people will move you on. Come on, keep going. You're here for something. Do it. And in many ways, this is like better today. Jesus is here for each one of us. And we have said that we have decided to follow Jesus. And that's why we are all together. No turning back. And just like in a casino, we have to place our bets. But our bet is eternal life. Are we willing to go all in with our bets in life so we can obtain the reward, the great reward of eternal life? Now, this is not a theoretical question that theologians talk about, but it's the truth for each one of us. Are we ready to go all in with Jesus after hearing this message today that families there might be disruption in families? There'll be fighting. Are we willing to continue to reach out? Are we willing to risk everything to be with the poor? To be reaching out to someone who is hurting, even though you may be rejected. Yes, even our families and friends, it says, may reject us for being friends of the poor. But are we willing to go all in? The question today. You know, one of the most common requests that we have with the daily TV mass is for children who have gone away from the church that they will again return to the church. Let me tell you a story of a friend of mine from I met many years ago in the street. She about 20 years I knew her. And she had a history of drugs in the street, but decided many years ago to go all in and turn to the Lord. Turn to the Lord for help. She's given me permission to share this. She said, I long to be a mother, but I was told I would never be a mother. I know what it feels like to lose everything, she said, to hold your brokenness like a secret, because no one else will carry it with you. Then I found myself when I was two months clean, I was pregnant. Suddenly I felt this heartbeat inside of me. My little child within me saved me before she ever spoke a word. So this is the heartache that many of us have for our children. Will they turn to the Lord? Will they come back to the Lord? So I tell this story because this young lady and many of the people I've met in the streets are ones that shows the way. After many years of suffering, they turn to the Lord, and there they are. They will call out to Jesus and say, Lord, I'm willing to go all in with you because I trust you. And you've called me. Yes, there may be some family friction as well, but I trust you, Lord, that you will get me through all of that in my life. So I think this is this young lady I'm talking about is among many of the street people who courageously risk going all in in their life. And what do they ask of us? They ask of us to take a risk that we'll stop and listen to them. We'll look in their eyes and we'll treat them as a person. And we'll say, I would like to be your friend. I'm here for you. So it's a question of are we taking a risk in life? Or do we go all in? Because Jesus is going to give us eternal life. This is a reward. This is a reward that we're promised. If we go all in with Jesus in our life, we will receive the reward in heaven, which is an eternal reward. So today I think this is a simple message of what we do. Are we willing to go all in? Do we really trust Jesus? When he promised us we will have eternal life. Yes, there may be friction within the family, but even through that, we'll be safe in the hands of Jesus. So this is what we celebrate today. A Lord who calls us, calls us beyond who we sometimes would like to be. Because we can't just be spectators in life. We stay, Lord, we say, Yes, Lord, I want to go all in for you. So let us turn now. Let us turn to a heavenly father who never turns away those who reach out in their sorrow and their need. Let us turn now and place our intentions before our Father in heaven. For all of those in our daily TV Mass Prayer Intentions book, we pray to the Lord.

SPEAKER_10

Lord is hear our prayer.

SPEAKER_03

As a community prayer, let us give thanks for grandparents and elders like Saints Joachim and Anne, who nurture faith and family across the generations with quiet strength. We pray to the Lord.

SPEAKER_07

Lord hear our prayer.

SPEAKER_03

For those who are facing martyrdom around the world because of their faith, that the Holy Spirit will sustain them in their witness to the love of God. We pray to the Lord. For those among us who struggle with fears, regrets, and doubts. We pray to the Lord.

SPEAKER_08

The Lord hear our prayer.

SPEAKER_03

Heavenly Father, hear these prayers and let our ears always be open to the voice of the angels of hope that you send to us in our daily life. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation. Through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you, fruit of the earth and work of human hands. It will become for us the bread of life. Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation. Your goodness, we have received this wine, we offer the fruit of the wine and work of human hands. It will become for us our spiritual drink. Be pleased, O Lord, to accept the offerings of your church, for in your mercy you have given them to be offered, and by your power you transform them into the mystery of our salvation through Christ our Lord.

SPEAKER_07

Amen.

SPEAKER_00

The Lord be with you. Lift up your hearts.

SPEAKER_08

Let us love to the Lord.

SPEAKER_00

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just truly right and just our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere, to give you thanks. Lord Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God, for just as through your beloved Son you created the human race, so also through him with great goodness you formed it anew. And so it is right that all your creatures serve you, all the redeemed praise you, and all your saints with one heart bless you. Therefore, be to extol you with all the angels, as in joyful celebration we acclaim.

SPEAKER_05

Holy, holy, holy love your glory.

SPEAKER_00

Make holy therefore these gifts we pray, by sending down your spirit upon them like the dew fall, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread, and giving thanks broke it, gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this all of you and eat of it, for this is my body which will be given up for you. In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this all of you and drink from it. For this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me. The mystery of faith.

SPEAKER_05

When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.

SPEAKER_00

Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. Humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Leo, our Pope, and Francis, our bishop, and all the clergy. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy, welcome them into the light of your face. Have mercy on us all, we pray that with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with Blessed Joseph, our spouse, with the blessed apostles, and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be coerced to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son Jesus Christ. Through him and with him and in him, O God Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours for ever and ever.

SPEAKER_06

At the Savior's command, informed by divine teaching, we dare to say, O Father, who art in heaven, be thy name, and thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day of our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses. As we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us.

SPEAKER_00

Deliver us, Lord, we pray from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress of mind and body, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_08

The kingdom of the power and glory are yours now and forever.

SPEAKER_00

Lord Jesus Christ, who said to our apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church, and graciously grant a peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever.

unknown

Amen.

SPEAKER_00

The peace of the Lord be with you always.

SPEAKER_03

And with your spirit. Let us share with one another a sign of Christ's peace.

SPEAKER_05

You take away the sins of the world. Have mercy on us.

SPEAKER_00

Behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Happy are all of us who are called to this banquet.

SPEAKER_08

Lord under my roof.

SPEAKER_04

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in this holy sacrament of the altar. I love you above all things, and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come spiritually into my soul, so that I may unite myself wholly to you now and forever. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Let us pray. May the communion in your sacrament that we have consumed save us, O Lord, and confirm us in the light of your truth through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you and with your spirit. And may Almighty God bless each one of us in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

SPEAKER_03

Amen. And go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life.

SPEAKER_04

Our thanks to our donors for the gift of this month.
